Our article exploring a changing Los Angeles and how a late-night burrito joint in East Hollywood served as more than simply a place for mindlessly consuming post-party food but as a space for all walks of life - especially those on the fringes - to come together and simply be. While the site will be replaced by affordable housing, the article also poses questions about the assumptions we make about architecture, urban design, preservation, and the perhaps oversimplified ways in which we deem buildings worthy of preservation.
