BUTTERFLY REDUX

CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH NOEL KINGSBURY

A multi-pronged landscape that involved reworking a very weedy-looking, unsightly butterfly garden into something with enough structure that it read as intentional to humans, and then exploring how self-sowing plants of the prairie and nusery-variety landscape stalwarts interact over time within the same landscape. Over the course of five years, we will be documenting how the overall composition of the landscape changes. Will one species end up dominating within the landscape, or will an equilibrium be reached? Time will tell. The project serves as the American outpost of a landscape research project begun by Noel Kingsbury in the UK. You can read more about that project HERE.
