Walter Hood-designed landscape adjacent to San Francisco’s de Young Museum

Walter Hood, Berkeley-based landscape architect well known for his design of the landscape adjacent to San Francisco’s de Young Museum, will be speaking at the Walker Art Center this Thursday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. The lecture is part of an ongoing series on the evolving nature of urban open space entitled The Next Generation of Parks. The event is free of charge.

For those of you staying or residing in Minneapolis at the moment and who are needing some good old-fashioned, intelligent diversion, the Walker Art Center will be holding a talk this evening on the monumental Highline, the elevated linear park born out of an abandoned railway bed in lower Manhattan. The talk is part of a citywide visioning process on public green space, entitled The Next Generation of Parks. It will be located in the Cinema, and is free.
